Culinary Cory Turns One

Who would have thought a way kill time while I figured out my next career move would turn into a year’s worth of culinary goodness. I’ll never forget that beautiful day. I was sitting in a small Irish pub near downtown Chicago when my friend Mary strongly suggested that I start a blog. Yelling at me to start a blog is more like it. A quick sip of a tasty beverage, and I waved away the idea as gibberish. As the setting sun began reflect against the brilliant Chicago towers, I started to drink the KoolAid of my loyal friend’s encouragement.

I can honestly say this blog has further ignited my intense passion for food, and opened up a whole new world of possibilities. Over the past year, I have gotten two jobs based on writing a blog, stuck through it all while moving to Pittsburgh, connected with wonderful people all over the world, learned how to photograph food beautifully, and even got some free stuff along the way.

Thank you to all of you who have read my culinary adventures and misadventures this past year. Without you, I wouldn’t have an excuse to cover my kitchen with flour. You call it a mess, and I call it research. Cheers to future research.

  12. Cher Cory,

Happy one year Blogiversary, mon ami…! ! !
I am so happy to have made your acquaintance as a food blog friend.

My fave recipes are definitely your appetizers, especially the Pesto Goat Cheese Stuffed Tomatoes and the Shrimp Cocktail Shots.
I also love any and all posts with images of your sweet pup Sophie…lol…
I imagine I like the appetizers the best as most are gluten-free.

But I do have to say you need to add a bit of alcohol (vodka, gin or wine) to your cocktail sauces as
the tomato has alcohol dissolvable flavors that we would miss without that ingredient.
The taste difference is quite remarkable…

P.S. I just found out from FoodBuzz that I won a place at the table of othetr Featured Publishers and will be dining at TRU on Monday night with 7 other food bloggers.
I so wish that you and Brent were in Chi-town to meet you at this amazing food event.

Looking forward to many hundreds of posts and stunning imageson your wonderful blog.
    Bisous and a hug,
