Macy's (Marshall Field's) Tree

I absolutely love Chicago during the holidays and the city was tinkling bright during my vacation adventures. It seemed like everywhere I turned, a Christmas tree was beautifully decorated to show off it’s splendor for all to see.

There were several trees that truly caused me to stop in my tracks, smile and then commit to memory before continuing to my destination. I wasn’t able to snap pictures of all of them, but here are a few I really thought you might enjoy.

Macy’s Christmas Tree: Located on the 8th floor of the Macy’s on State Street (Formally Marshall Field’s), this tree is a hidden gem in the city. Traveling through the lavish store to see the tree is like stepping into a movie of another time. If you have some extra time to spare, you should grab lunch in the restaurant that completely surrounds it.

Daley Plaza Tree

Daley Plaza: When I lived in Chicago, I would visit the Daley Plaza Farmer’s Market during my work lunches in the summer. In the winter time, this plaza is transformed into a German Christmas Market with an expansive tree as the focal point. The market was a flutter as I bounced from booth to booth looking for a memorable souvenir. I ended up finding a really cute candle snuffer molded in the shape of a snowman. Way cute!

Garfield Conservatory Tree

Garfield Conservatory: I had never visited the Garfield Conservatory when I lived in the windy city. So I thought it would be fun to take the train ride to see pretty plants and attempt to stay warm. The conservatory is a nice place to visit if you are vacationing on a budget because the admission is free. It was interesting to see a lit tree completely surrounded by all the natural beauty of the lush botanicals.
