This is part of my Chicago Holiday Adventures series.

A requirement for my recent vacation adventure in Chicago was to grab a cup of hot chocolate and explore the city. I’m a huge fan of the windy city’s architecture with all of the towering beacons of metal bordering the Lake Michigan shoreline.
The weather was a little warmer, by Chicago standards of course, when I decided to let my mind wander through the multitude of neighborhoods. Plus, the daylight seemed to cast a wintery glow against massive structures. I ended up taking a ton of pictures during my walk as I’m sure you can imagine. So here are a select few for your viewing pleasure.
Ice Skaters in Millennium Park: I couldn’t help but stop for a bit to take in the view of the ice skaters at Millennium Park. It was fun watching the variety of people circle around the ice with hipster music blaring in the background.
Walking on the Bridge: A walking bridge was recently constructed to connect Millennium Park to The Art Institute of Chicago. There was a mother and son walking on the bridge in the distance. I loved how their silhouettes contrasted against blue sky.
Trump Tower and the Wrigley Building: Trump Tower is new and now one of the tallest skyscrapers in Chicago. I found it a little ironic to see it in the background of one of the oldest buildings in the city. It’s quite a contrast of designs.
Daley Plaza: This plaza was a focal point of many walks I took during lunch when I worked in downtown Chicago. There is always a ton of activity in this area. The summers are filled with weekly farmer’s markets and the holiday’s is a German style market.
