I’d Rather Be Baking Cookies

Not too long ago, I posted a status update on my personal Facebook profile that said “I’d rather be baking cookies.” I giggled to myself when my friends started to respond with comments like “I’d rather be eating your cookies.” Clearly I give away way too many cookies to my friends.
Recently an unexpected opportunity emerged like a siren from the pages of a Greek novel. However, when I peeled back the layers of the onion of opportunity, I began to question if it would be the right change at this moment of my life.
So I asked myself…would I rather be baking cookies? The answer was yes and I allowed the opportunity to drift into the pale moonlight.
While it started out as a light-hearted status update, I discovered the statement was a compass to help me stay on track for what I really want to be doing with my life. This former husky kid has dreams and goals. With each step I take, I need to keep myself on the path…no matter how less traveled it might be.
Now here is a question for you. If you would rather be baking cookies too, what kind would they be?

I have always loved your recipe for Cory’s Oat Nut Chip cookies with the M&M’s!
Now I know I’m not the only one who likes to post weird things on facebook, sit back and watch the reaction.
Yes, I’d rather be eating cookies too. Or that cookie dough you have pictured
I’d love to make some snickerdoodles right now though! Who needs dinner?
Hey Sues: I totally just made Snickerdoodles a few days ago for my office. It was the perfect way to bribe more work out of them.
White chocolate macadamia nut cookies, hands down!
Love this post, it’s like food crossed with Budhism (Foodhism?) By the way, it was good to meet you in person last week
Hey Jim: It was great to meet you as well. Your presentation was great.
This post just came to me like a heaven’s sign.
Of course I’d rather be baking cookies, literally, but in the meantime I’m obliged to bake cookies half of my time while the rest of the day I’m doing things that doesn’t make me as happy as I am when I have to mix sugar and butter
m. Butter and sugar is certainly the easiest way to make someone smile. hehe
sure it is!
That was a rather intriguing post…
I’m with everyone else. CCC are probably my fave!
Amanda: Intriguing indeed.
LOL! I would rather cook or bake than do almost anything else…it sometimes causes issues with my housework
I have to say my favorite is chocolate chip, with frosted sugar cookies a close second
Tiffiny: Cooking and baking totally causes issues with my housework. Someday I will get that maid I’ve been saving for. hehe
Chocolate chocolate chip with a mini York peppermint baking piece stuck on top!
BrandonK: Yum! York peppermint will certainly give a boost of flavor.
Great post! I’m all for the chocolate chip cookies with a twist, e.g. dried cranberries and orange zest. Your recipe looks delicious, I’ll be trying it soon!
Jessica: Ohhhhh I like the idea of dried cranberries and orange zest. Sounds like a great twist to a classic favorite.
